Regular readers of the newsgroup alt.callahans will need no introduction
to this book. It is a collection of stories set in a place called
Callahans Bar. Although obviously science fiction, the stories mostly
about people, with the science being completely incidental. Spider
Robinson is clearly a believer in human goodness, but he writes well
enough that the stories don't degenerate into being "feel-good". This
is light entertainment after all, so it's permissible to simplify the
moral issues a little.
