This is a series of six survey essays covering the state of politics in
the Philippines immediately prior to the 1992 election. It gives a
clear and lucid introduction to such topics as the change from factional
based to party based politics, the attempts to decentralise political
power, the role of non-government organisations, and the options open to
the Communist Party of the Philippines.
