Quiddities:
An Intermittently Philosophical Dictionary

W.V. Quine

A book review by Danny Yee © 1992 https://dannyreviews.com/
Quiddities is a collection of short pieces modeled on Voltaire's Philosophical Dictionary. Quine has some idiosyncratic ideas about things, but is always worth reading. While Quiddities looks like it's aimed at a popular audience, some of the essays are rather technical and I wouldn't really recommend this book to anyone without some background in logic and philosophy. (Knowledge of Latin, Greek, French, German, Italian, Spanish and assorted other languages would also be useful!)
